What Was The Problem? 🤔

Elegant Bags & Shoes Pty (Ltd) Is an online retailer of handbags, specialising in both local and imported brands. They strive to provide customers with the best quality fashion products in 🇿🇦 South Africa. They were primarily a Brick & Mortar store with physical stores and a showroom in the city of Randburg, Johannesburg.

They reached out to us so that we could help them transition into the online shopping space as their customer base had grown and they wanted to offer delivery as well as a modern online shopping experience.

What Did We Build? ⚒️

We got straight to work and settled on the following for our tech:

• 1. Wordpress - Content Management System

We have been working with wordpress for over 10 years! With such vast experience in the tech going for this option was a no-brainer. We used it to build the website and picked it because of its vast content management capabilities. The ease of customization as well as the availability of many free and paid themese and plugins makes it an easy choice when you want to build a good looking, functional website that can be extended and cater for multiple users logging in and updating content. We also added a few plugins for security & to achieve the core feature of turning the website into an online store.

Plugins 🔌

• 1. WooCommerce
     We used WooCommerce as the basis to build the online store. We used it to manage products, handle stock, view and fulfill orders. We managed to integrate the orders with their in-store point of sale system so that as soon as an order is placed online it gets pushed to the Point of Sale system, stock gets deducted and the store personnel handle fulfilling the orders through a courier.
• 2. Breeze – WordPress Cache Plugin
     One of the best cache plugin we have ever used. Manages your wordpress cache on different levels and makes your website faster.
• 3. Wordfence Security
     You always need security and this plugin continually monitors your website for vulnerabilities as well as blocks malicious IP's.
